From the south of Brazil to the wide world. A simple blacksmith shop founded in 1911, gave rise to a group that has become a global brand spanning over 120 countries.
Renowned for quality products, continuing its legacy as a symbol of excellence with solid values, dedicated people, and a will to innovate all while doing this beautifully well.
A 115 years, told in milestones.
1911Valentin opens a small blacksmith shop in the town of Carlos Barbosa
The young man performed repairs for industries in the region and made hardware for horses.
1930Launch of the “Santa Bárbara” pocketknife
Object number 1, manufactured the most at the time.
1939Death of Valentin Tramontina
His widow, Elisa De Cecco Tramontina, starts running the business.
1949New management
Ivo Tramontina and Ruy J. Scomazzon become partners of the company.
1959Forjasul opens in Porto Alegre (RS)
Later transferred to Canoas, the factory produces vises, sledgehammers, hooks and shackles for lifting and moving loads.
1961Death of Elisa De Cecco Tramontina
In this same period, the company became a corporation (S.A.)
1963Unit opens in Garibaldi (RS)
Factory for producing tools.
1969Regional Sales Office (RSO) opened
Debut in the international market, with the first export to Chile.
1971A facility is opened in the city of Farroupilha (RS)
Factory to produce stainless-steel items, becoming a reference in products such as tableware, sauce pans, flatwares, among others.
1976Unit opened in Carlos Barbosa (RS)
Factory for producing electrical materials.
1980RSO opened in Porto Alegre (RS)
Later, it started operating as the Southern Distribution Center, in Carlos Barbosa (RS).
1982Opening of the Multi unit in Carlos Barbosa (Brazil), for the production of agricultural tools
In the same year, the Regional Sales Office opened in Goiânia (Brazil), which six years later started operating as the Planalto Distribution Center to facilitate logistics and market growth.
1986The first Distribution Center abroad opens
Tramontina USA was opened in Houston, United States.
1988The first robot is purchased
Named Nokia and installed at the Farroupilha (RS) facility, it starts polishing frying pan handles..
1994Tramontina Haushaltswaren opens in Germany
Years later, it is restructured and starts operating as Tramontina Germany.
1996TEEC unit opened in Carlos Barbosa (RS)
Factory for manufacturing stainless steel sinks and basins.
1997Tramontina de México opens
First Sales Office abroad, in Huixquilucan, Mexico.
1998Delta unit opens in Recife (PE)
Factory for manufacturing plastic tables and chairs.
1999Tramontina Colômbia unit is opened
The Distribution Center serves Colombia and Venezuela.
2000Tramontina Chile is opened
Distribution Center focused on serving the Chilean market.
2004Tramontina UAE unit opens in Dubai
In addition to the United Arab Emirates, the Distribution Center serves many countries in the Middle East region.
2005Brand refresh
The logo takes on shapes that inspire confidence and innovation, characteristics always associated with the company. The same year, Tramontina del Peru was opened.
2011Tramontina reaches 100 years old and receives a seal with the infinity symbol
Tramontina del Ecuador S.A. opens.
2012Tramontina de Panamá S.A. unit opened
In addition to the Panamanian market, the Distribution Center serves many countries in the Caribbean region.
2013Retail Entry: Official T Store in Rio de Janeiro
Tramontina expands its operations and proximity in a new environment. That same year, Tramontina Singapore opens.
2015The first T store abroad opens in Santiago, Chile
It brings the same experience as other T stores to the Chilean market.
2016Tramontina brand refresh
It takes on a new visual identity. The Tramontina Caribe and Tramontina United Kingdom units are also opened.
2017Death of Ivo Tramontina
The same year, units were opened in Australia, Tramontina Australia, and Tramontina Riga, in Latvia.
2018Opening of the online T store
Its debut in e-commerce, expanding its presence in the market and providing customers with a new relationship and purchasing channel.
2019Ivo Tramontina Education Center (CEIT)
Opened in Carlos Barbosa (RS), the CEIT was born from the idea of inspiring the pursuit of knowledge and encouraging wellness activities. One of the goals is to strengthen the integration between Tramontina, its employees and the community.
2021Two units open abroad
The distribution center Tramontina Canada and the new regional sales office Tramontina Uruguay were opened.
2022Death of Ruy J. Scomazzon
In the same year, Tramontina entered into the porcelain market, with production at the Delta unit, in Moreno (PE).
2024Opening of the units
Tramontina India, Tramontina Tunisia, and new T stores in Peru, Chile, and South Africa.
2025Launch of the new brand
Supported by the pillars of precision—an attribute already widely recognized by the brand—and humanity, which is essential for building an emotional connection with audiences and future generations.
